# 2. Connect your wallet and sign in

Connect your Cardano wallet, sign in for free, and find your way around Surge.

Your Cardano wallet is your Surge login. You don't need an account or a password, and signing in never moves funds.

### What you'll learn

* How to connect a CIP-30 wallet
* How to sign the login message safely
* What to expect the first time you sign in
* Where everything is in the app

### Supported wallets

Eternl, Lace, Vespr, Typhon, NuFi, Yoroi, Gero, Begin, CTRL, OKX and more. Only wallets installed in your browser appear in the list.

### Steps

1. Click **Connect Wallet** in the top right.
2. Pick your wallet. Make sure it's on the same network as the app, shown in the bottom left (Cardano Mainnet).
3. Sign the login message. Check that it starts with "surge.finance login" and contains your address.
4. Approve it in your wallet. Surge verifies the signature and you're in.
5. The first time you sign in, accept the wallet security terms. A short welcome tour follows.

### Finding your way around

| Pause All | Press and hold to pause every strategy at once |
| Bell | Fills, alerts and system notices |
| Wallet menu | Your connected address, and Disconnect |

### Good to know

* **Signing in is free.** It's a message signature, not a transaction.
* **Asked for a beta access code?** Enter it on the login screen.
* **Want the tour again?** Reopen it any time from "Tour" in the bottom left.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.surgecardano.com/tutorials/2.-connect-your-wallet-and-sign-in.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
